What is uBookmark?
uBookmark is a bookmark manager application. There are two version of it. One for iOS and another for macOS.
What is the meaning of the name?
uBookmark stands for Universal Bookmark. Why Universal? Becuase it works with Safari, Chrome and Firefox. uBookmark extension in those browsers will send a bookmark to the main application to save. User can view their bookmarks on thier Mac or iPhone, iPad.
Why does it not import bookmarks from my browser (Safari, Chrome or Firefox)?
The app will not access your bookmarks on your browser automatically. This function is doable for us but we do not want to do it. For some user, it is a convenience function but for others, it is a huge security issue.
When we design this app, we want the user to start from scratch. User has to create a collection and add a bookmark to the collection themselves. However, due to the high amount of feedback we received from our users. We may consider adding a new function to the app to help user import their bookmarks by HTML file exported from their browser.
Please note that the import function is not available yet. We will post an announcement on this page as soon as we release it.
Why does it not have an import button where I can import bookmarks from other browsers?
As stated in the above question, we do not offer this function in uBookmark app. However, due to the high amount of feedback we received from our users. We may consider adding a new function to the app in the future update to help user import their bookmarks by HTML file exported from their browser.

Why does it not support drag and drop feature?
The first generation of this app will not support drag and drop but the next generation will support it. User can add a bookmark by dragging a link to the Add New Bookmark interface. The application will process and add a new bookmark to the database.
The next generation of this app will start at version 3.0.
I purchased the app but it does not seem to work at all. Why?
Just like other apps out there, this app cannot cover all use cases. uBookmark was originated to serve one purpose only. It is to receive a call from its extensions, process data, save that data and then display to the user. We recommended that all new users read through this guide before using the app.
As the developer of the app, we did not and do not want to mislead our customer. That is why we never market our app with some advance functions that it cannot do. At first, we did not have a user guide where user can read through all the functionalities of the app and how to use them. User has to guess what it does and follow the interface to find the answer themselves.
However, since version 2.2.1 for the macOS version and 1.5 for the iOS version. We published a simple user guide where user can learn how to use the app the way it is designed to do on our website at https://sparrowhawkaus.com. Based on the feedback that we received from our customers. We know that is not enough. That is why we created a more comprehensive user guide where user can find anything that they need about the app. That user guide is the one you are reading right now.
After all, we have to amit that our application is not good enough. It is not as easy to use as we think it is. Users still have to guess when they navigate through the interface. But we are here to listen and to learn from you, our customer to make the app more usable and better than before. Please keep your feedback coming. We will try our best to resolve all of them.
"We do not want to sell your data. What's personal stays private." That statement is not specific enough.
We are a small software business that create small applications for end-users. We do not have a large number of users where we can get any benefit from their data. The only income that we have is from the number of apps we sell on the App Store.
We start the business with only one intention is to develop and sell good apps to as many users as possible. We want to stay in this industry and thrive to become something much bigger than what we are today. That is our intention.
We have no interest in your data. We only want to protect it. For a small business like us to protect your data, the only thing to do is not to store anything on our server. Everything will be saved on your device and only sync with iCloud but not other third-party or our server. We use a framework that published by Apple to handle all communication between your device and iCloud. We do not make anything ourselves to limit the risk. If you trust your Apple devices, then you can trust us.
We are in this industry for some time and it is our responsibility to remind you that no system or software is 100% safe. There will always a problem along the line. Do not rely on others to protect you. You have to protect yourself first.
Does the app have the ability to move folder (collection) around?
The legacy version of the app does not provide that functionality but the next generation of the app will support it. In the next generation of the app, we added Group on top of Collection. Now you can group all collections with the same category together. You can now move Collections between Groups and move Bookmarks between Collections.

Please note that the next generation of the app will start at version 3.0.
I am not happy with the app. How can I get my money back?
As the developer of the app, we always want to satisfy our customer by creating the best app possible that provide the functionalities that the app promises to do. However, that is not always the case.
Sometimes a user bought the app by mistake because they think it can do what they think it can without reading our user guide. As stated above, we did not and do not advertise something that we or the app cannot provide. In that case, we have to say sorry because nothing more we can do about it. Refunding can be the only way.
However, refunding is not what we can do when publishing our app on the App Store. All transactions have to go through Apple. We cannot issue a refund directly. To get a refund, a user has to apply for it by heading to this address Request a refund.
